Wellness Coaching strives to balance the numerous areas of life that affect optimal health & wellness. Physical health factors such as cardiovascular capacity, muscle strength & flexibility, weight management & body composition, nutrition, and stress management are the focus of most Wellness Coaching programs. Life purpose, life satisfaction and relationships all affect the foundation of well-being and are often included as secondary goals in wellness plans.

the design session
All coaching programs start off with a Design Session. This 2-Hour meeting takes place by telephone from wherever you live or work (in-person optional for Newton and Boston area residents). This is the starting point for your program. Before we meet you will be sent a Health History & Lifestyle Questionnaire to complete, including an area to start outlining your goals and provide input about what will best support you in the coaching process.
coaching
The coaching foundation holds that you are wholly complete, resourcesful and capable all on your own. You will decide which weekly goals to commit to and where you need support and brainstorming during the session. As a certified personal trainer, yoga & pilates instructor and life coach, my opinions, education or resource suggestions are available for you by request. As your coach, with the outside perspective of your best self in vision, I may challenge you to dream bigger & set your standards higher. In the end, knowing that the process, as well as the goal, are equally important - the decision of what to work on each week will always be yours.
During the Design Session you will:
- Create a simple, succinct long termWellness Vision
- Map out Specific 3-Month Goals to move you toward your vision
- Identify Motivation, Challenges & Solutions and Stage of Change for each 3-Month Goal
- Create your first Week's Goals with one simple goal toward each 3-Month Goal
After your session, you will receive a written document including all of the above via email or in an organized binder to help you maintain focus & put your energy into positive forward action around getting started. If any of your goals require a Medical Release, you will receive this promptly so any input or direction from your physician can me included in the goals and you can get moving right away!
programs & fees
Wellness Coaching sessions are generally 30 - 45 minute telephone calls, with goals emailed after each session. If you are working on a number of areas, or are including weekly Emotional Eating™ lessons as part of your program, a 60-Minute session may be required. You will call in for your session at an agreed upon time each week from wherever you are, making adherence to your plan easy. Use of the Wellcoaches® Online 'Web Coaching Platform' available for an additional fee.
Programs are structued in 3-Month/ 12-Week Sections. The 90-day commitment gives you time to get started, achieve success, overcome a few challenges & normal setbacks then continue to succeed. Many goals can be achieved in one section. Larger, longer term goals may take a few subsequent sections to achieve your big picture vision. After achieving all goals, a maintenance plan is always recommended. Most maintenance plans drop back to bi-weekly sessions and progress to monthly check-in's. In Person Programs and Virtual Programs are both available.
